It was a straight up Ricerocket. Crappy black paint, ugly chrome wheels and some horrid bodykit. Stop this Supra abuse now.
Didn't have time to snap a picture, but you get the idea.

Can you even find stock Supra TTs anymore? I thought they had all gone extinct about the same time the .99 Whopper did.

There's probably a few old farts somewhere with a couple unmolested Supras. Now that they're so pricey, I'd hope that the ricers wouldn't be finding them as easily but I guess not.

I've seen one stock one in the last 5 or 6 years. I guess it depends on where you live.
I would have thought that the appreciation would have finally gotten most of the people who bought in the 90s (old farts) to sell by now. $20k for this car I paid $35k for 20 years ago? Sold!

I might have seen one stock, but not recently and not that I especially remember much.
Usually the older generation holds onto their cars forever unless they have some massive amount of money from what I've seen. After a brief search of car buying sites there seems to be at least one stock one. Automatic though, but nevertheless, a stock Supra.

That's funny, because I saw a 3rd-generation Supra in traffic today, in shiny black with black wheels and I remember thinking "My goodness, that's sweet." It had possibly non-stock twin tailpipes of largish diameter, but aside from that and being slightly lowered (maybe an inch) it looked very nice, and in better condition than you'd expect for a car its age.

I'm in that older (40-50) generation, most of the friends I have that have held on to cars have done it because the money they can get for the car they have have wouldn't get them close to buying the newer car they have their eye on.
I have a friend who has a 90s Mustang who keeps looking at a newer one but because of family expenses can't justify going into debt again for another fun car. He says he's never getting rid of his car but I don't believe him. If someone showed up and offered him $25k (enough to get him pretty close to buying a well maintained 2-3 year old car) I think he'd jump on it.
I'm sure there are probably 10-15% that keep their older cars for sentimental reasons but I think it's the paid off and well maintained part of the car that they like, for most of them it's financial.

For instance, a good chunk of Corvette owners keep their cars forever and they almost never rack up miles nor do they leave the garage on a daily basis.

Corvette owners are a special group, about 3 years ago I was telling a neighbor of mine who owns a C5 I was thinking about getting a Vette and I was asking him questions about his car, when he found out I was going to DD it he looked appalled, he was trying to talk me out of it telling me how it wasn't an everyday car and such. I was amused. He's had his for about 10 years and he's got like 20k miles on it. I ended up getting something else but a lot of Vette owners I've met are odd about their cars like that. They only want to drive them on special occasions like they're Model Ts or something.

And then there are some of us who are nuts and drive our Corvettes daily, weather be damned!
That said, it's not so nuts. You can certainly DD a Corvette, easily and comfortably.

Hell Yeah! Sports cars are meant to be driven and occasionally hooned. I know that but my buddy didn't get that memo. I know another guy who DDd his Vette for 4 or 5 years before selling it and buying a Kia (???). That was why I said a lot of guys not all. I'm sure you've met the type of older guy who puts 2-3k a year on their Vette.

Yeah, that's most. I'm not complaining, though, because it means nice examples in the used market are easy to come by and I don't have to feel bad driving one of them because there are a zillion others to choose from for people who want to baby it.
